Streamkeepers´ Physical Habitat Index (PHI)

Streamkeepers is developing a Physical Habitat for Salmonids Index (PHI), based on physical habitat parameters that we monitor.  Our PHI is still in draft form and needs further refinement and calibration.  If you´d like to see a stage of our work-in-progress, you can view:

-- Our draft PHI paper which describes the metrics we´re developing, and which we presented to the National Water Quality Monitoring Council (NWQMC) national conference in May 2004.

-- Our draft PHI scores based on a somewhat later version of the PHI, after some preliminary feedback on our paper.  We discarded one of the metrics, the conifer stem count, and adjusted several other metrics.
