Streamkeepers' Noxious Weed data and habitat-quality scores, 1999-2005
Streamkeepers collects data on invasive exotic weeds, in coordination with the Clallam County Noxious Weed Control Board http://www.clallam.net/weedcontrol/.
Streamkeepers has collated all of our noxious weed data from that time period from our physical-habitat monitoring sites, and then calculated noxious weed grades for those sites from the point of view of noxious weed-based habitat degradation. The grades are based on a scoring table that Streamkeepers created for this purpose.
We have done a preliminary study of strength of correlation between noxious weed grades and other measures of watershed health, such as biological integrity and land use/land cover.
This is part of a larger effort to create a Physical Habitat Index which assigns habitat-quality scores to sites where Streamkeepers collected physical-habitat data from 1999-2005.
