CALIBRATION OF SWOFFER 2100 VELOCITY METER--SAMPLE CALIBRATION SPREADSHEET
(Note:  This is a "dummy" spreadsheet without formulas behind the cells, for reference purposes on the Streamkeepers website.)
Text Box: Instructions: Copy (not move) this sheet (Edit/Move or Copy Sheet) to the end of the other sheets. Then unprotect it (Tools/Protection), label the tab according to the date of the calibration, and enter the data in the yellow boxes. All other boxes will be filled automatically. Mark the bags containing the rotors, indicating their calibration numbers and whether they are spares or primaries. Then set new calibration numbers into flow meters (see below).

Coefficient of variation between replicate "mean for all runs": 349.625 (Spreadsheet will enter this value for you from the values entered above.)
... and initial "mean for all runs" for that rotor: 349.125 (Put the cursor after the "=" sign and then click in the appropriate cell.)
… equals 1.414*ABS(DIFFERENCE/SUM) = 0.001 (Spreadsheet will calculate for you.)
(Coefficient of variation should be <=0.01 for desired precision level.)
Text Box: SETTING NEW CALIBRATION NUMBERS INTO FLOW METERS: After performing the calibration check, note which rotor/prop unit is to be the primary for each meter. Then reset the calibration number on the meter with the number of its primary, following manufacturer's instructions. (Briefly, unscrew the black screw under the "Feet/Cal Adjust" mark; turn the dial to "Calibrate"; use a small flat-headed screwdriver to adjust the set screw inside the chamber, until the number is the number of that meter's primary rotor; turn off the meter and rescrew the black screw.)
