Washington State Law allows law enforcement to notify residents when a registered sex offender is living in their community. This information is not intended to increase fear; rather, it is our belief that an informed public is a safer public. The Clallam County Sheriff's Office has no authority to direct sex offenders as to where they may live or work. Unless restricted by a court order, sex offenders are constitutionally permitted to live wherever they choose.
Registered sex offenders in Washington State are classified as Level I, Level II, or Level III:
Level I: Considered low risk to re-offend. Washington State law strictly limits public disclosure of Level I information to any victim, witness to the offense, and to any individual community member who lives near the residence where the offender resides, expects to reside, or is regularly found. You may contact the Clallam County Sheriff's Office to receive specific information about Level I offenders if you meet this criteria.
Level II: Considered moderate risk to re-offend. To view information on Level II offenders, please visit the online site of The Washington State Sex Offender Information Center: http://ml.waspc.org
Level III: Considered high risk to re-offend. Information on Level III offenders is maintained online by the Clallam County Sheriff's Office and online at The Washington State Sex Offender Information Center. Address information on the Clallam County Sheriff's Office website is updated on a weekly basis and is the most current information available. Please click on the link above Clallam County Level III Sex Offender Registry to access Level III information. Click on the name links within the table for photographs and conviction information. The Washington State Sex Offender Information Center at http://ml.waspc.org provides additional information such as county-wide searches, maps, and information on registered offenders living elsewhere in Washington State.
