The Clallam County Sheriff's Department may release one of the following lists to you pursuant to RCW 10.97.050 and RCW 4.24.550
1) Offenders Classified Risk Level 3 & Homeless; or
2) Classified Risk Levels 2, 3, & Homeless .
This information is not intended to increase fear; rather, it is our belief that an informed public is a safer public. The information shown on the list is taken from the registration form completed by the offender at the time of registration.
Classification levels indicate the offender's probable risk to re-offend. Generally speaking, Level 1 is lower risk; Level 2 is higher risk than Level 1, and Level 3 is highest risk to re-offend.
Guidelines on the release of information on offenders by law enforcement agencies are set by RCW 4.24.550. Risk level 3 and homeless offender lists are available to the public. Risk level 2 offender information is available to schools, day care providers, businesses and organizations that serve primarily children, women, or vulnerable adults, and neighbors and community groups near the residence where the offender resides, expects to reside, or is regularly found. Level 1 offender information may be disclosed upon request to any victim, witness to the offense and to any individual community member who lives near the residence where the offender resides, expects to reside, or is regularly found.
To request information on a Level 1 or Level 2 offender living near your residence, you will need to provide the street names and blocks in a 6 block radius from your residence. A form is available for requesting information on registered offenders at our business office or on our website by clicking this link to request sex offender registration information. Please complete and sign the form and mail it to our business office at 223 E 4th Street, Suite 12, Port Angeles WA 98362-3015 Please put "Attn. SOR." across the top

Only convicted sex offenders are required by law to register. Persons who have been arrested for sex offenses, but not convicted, are not required by law to register. Offenders who were convicted prior to February 28, 1990, and who were released from custody or supervision on or prior to July 28, 1991, are also not required by law to register.
Not all sex offenders are convicted of the same crime they are arrested for. Proceedings such as trial, plea-bargaining, etc., may reduce or change the actual title of the crime they were convicted of.
