The Clallam County Waste Prevention Program helps residents, organizations and businesses know how to recycle right and meet their waste prevention goals.

We are available for presentations and workshops for your school or organization. Check back for current event information open to the general public.

3/7/2020 Master Composter Recycler Workshop. Half day workshops with information on home composting, recycling right, waste prevention and more. Sequim Library 9-1pm. Port Angeles Library 3-7 pm.

3/12/2020 Recycling Right Q&A. Do you have questions about what and how to recycle properly? Come ask the experts about what is accepted and how to prepare it for drop box and curbside recycling. Regional Transfer Station 10am-noon. Blue Mountain Transfer Station 1-3 pm.

POSTPONED Date TBA 4/30/2020 11-2 pm. Making the Most of Waste: Opportunities to Stimulate our Local Economy. Hosted by Clallm County Solid Waste Advisory Committee, this forum in Port Angeles will feature an exciting keynote as well as local businesses and organizations with creative, economic, and sustainable approaches to local waste streams. Keynote: Center for Sustainable Infrastructure's soon to be released report:Waste Management to Clean Materials: A 2040 Roadmap for Pacific Northwest Leadership, offering a blueprint that regional leaders can use to build a world-class Clean Materials infrastructure and economy by 2040, that shrinks the Northwest’s environmental footprint dramatically and creates tens of thousands of good Clean Materials jobs throughout the region.
