Camp David Jr. on majestic Lake Crescent, Camp David Jr. provides a beautiful setting for all types of group activities, focusing on youth groups. The grounds of the oldest county park in the state are beautifully maintained. The camp is rich in history since it was originally a health spa in the very early 1900's and much of the history is preserved on the site. Camp David Jr. has been maintained as an outdoor recreation camp since 1935. Sitting on the veranda of the lodge overlooking the lake, you can easily imagine what it must have been like 100 years ago, when the sites original use was that of a health spa. Young people from across the western U.S. have a ball swimming, canoeing, fishing, and stone-skipping on the Olympic National Park lake. Nearby attractions include the Sol Duc and Elwha River valleys, numerous trails (including the Olympic Discovery Trail), and Lake Crescent Lodge. The camp provides a great opportunity for a variety of youth and adult group retreats, educational camps, recreation camps, waterfront activities, family reunions and even weddings. Camp Information It is used on a reservation basis only and has a capacity for overnight use of 100. It is one of the finest outdoor recreation resident camps in the state. The facilities include a beautiful main lodge (full of elk horn chandeliers and paintings) kitchen/dining facilities, eight sleeping cabins, two group restrooms (accessible), one staff duplex, a beach cabin, a log cabin lodge, swimming area, fishing dock, grass playfield, manager's residence, and 8.5 acres of Lake Crescent waterfront property. Qui Si Sana Lodge has a fully equipped kitchen, dining hall, arts/crafts room, and restrooms, with showers. A massive fireplace is a cozy location to gather in the evenings. In any weather, the covered porches allow unparalleled views of Lake Crescent. Sleeping Cabins are clustered in groups of four; each cluster is served by a central restroom building. Cabins sleep between eight and eleven individuals each. Beach and Staff Cabins each have a small kitchen, full bath, sleeping area and can be used by large or small groups. WoHeLo Lodge is a rustic log cabin on the lake's edge, mostly used as a gathering place. Currently the log cabin is under reconstruction and is unavailable as a rental. Hours of Operation The Camp is open from February through November, closing for maintenance work in January and December. |
