The Clallam County Victims Panel is operated by the Clallam County DUI Task Force, which is a part of the Clallam County Sheriff’s Department.

The Victims Panel is a program that consists of two video presentations running about thirty minutes regarding the real consequences of impaired driving. They are followed by approximately 45 minutes of testimony by individuals who have had their lives negatively impacted by impaired driving. The panelist share how their lives have been affected by impaired driving and substance abuse.

The Clallam County DUI Victims Panel meets all of the minimum standards of the Washington State Coalition of DUI Victim Impact Panels.

Attendees are generally court-ordered to attend. However, they may bring along guests if they wish.
There is no fee charged for those who are not court-ordered to attend.

  • Certificate of completion/notification of court will only be done for those who are court ordered, and pay for class in advance.

  • All attendees must be sober. Anyone suspected of drinking or using other drugs will be refused admittance to the program

  • No one will be allowed entrance after 6:30 PM.

  • Any inappropriate behavior or failure to comply with the rules of the program, or directions by the facilitator will result in dismissal from the program.

  • Persons dismissed from class for improper conduct will not be provided certificate of completion, notification of court, or refund for payment of class.

  • All attendees must remain until the facilitator officially dismisses them at the completion of program.

  • Failure to comply with all rules will result in a notice of non-compliance being sent to the appropriate court.

Fees:

There is a thirty-dollar ($30) fee for the class. You may sign-up in person.

If you are unable to attend your class for any reason, you must re-register and pay the fee again.

The fee is charged for each case the individual is attending.
If you have multiple counts from the same or other courts, you will be charged for each case.

 

Registration: You MUST register prior to attending class

Bring your court paperwork or copy of your ticket and payment to:

Our business offices are open to the public Monday – Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

The Victims Panel is held

  • On the second Thursday of each month (excluding legal holidays)
  • In the City Council Chambers, Port Angeles City Hall, 321 East 5th Street.
  • Port Angeles City Hall is a Non-smoking facility. In addition, no eating or drinking is allowed.

Check-In:

Check-in is held at the door from 6:00-6:30 p.m.

  • Class begins at 6:30 p.m.
  • No one is allowed entry after 6:30pm.
  • Class ends around 8:00 p.m.
