2008 Growth Management Act (GMA) Compliance Proceedings

The Board of County Commissioners has  scheduled public hearings for October 14 and 15, 2008 as follows:  

October 14, 2008,

  • Clallam County Courthouse, Commissioners' Meeting Room, at 10:30 a.m., or as soon thereafter  223 East 4th Street, Room 160, Port Angeles, WA.
  • Carrie Blake Park, Guy Cole Convention Center, at 6:00 p.m., 202 N. Blake Ave, Sequim, WA.

October 15, 2008

  • Sekiu Community Center, at 1:00 p.m., 42 Rice Street, Sekiu, WA..
  • Department of Natural Resources (DNR) Conference Room, at 6:00 p.m., 411 Tillicum Lane, Forks, WA.

Final Planning Commission recommendations submitted to BOCC:

On September 24, 2008, the Clallam County Planning Commission finalized its recommendations to be forwarded to the Clallam County Board of Commissioners for final action, following a public hearing. For Planning Commission transmittal letter with findings and attachments, click here. The Planning Commission recommendations govern proposed compliance responses by the County to the Western Washington Growth Management Hearings Board (WWGMHB) Final Order and Decision [Futurewise & Dry Creek Coalition vs. Clallam County, WWGMHB No. 07-2-0018c] that found portions of Clallam County´s Comprehensive Plan and Development Regulations as non-compliant and/or invalid with the state Growth Management Act (GMA), RCW 36.70A. 

SEPA.  Clallam County has conducted environmental review pursuant to SEPA, and issued a determination of non-significance for the proposed amendments.  See the following documents for more information.
