The Clallam County Parks, Fair and Facilities Department has evolved over the years. The birth of the parks department occurred in 1941, six years after Camp David Jr. had been deeded to the County. Starting with that nine acre outdoor recreation camp, the current Parks, Fair and Facilities Department has grown to include twenty-two parks, the County Fairgrounds, and five building complexes, including the historic Clallam County Courthouse and other facilities. A total of over 760 acres of recreational and County administrative property is managed and maintained by the Department staff.
Through the tireless efforts of the County Commissioners, County employees and volunteers, Clallam County provides outstanding recreational opportunities for county residents and visitor enjoyment.
