ADULT CRIMINAL HISTORY:
The Revised Code of Washington, 10.97.040 identifies the Washington State Patrol's Identification Section (WASIS) as the central repository for an individual's criminal history record. All law enforcement agencies, courts, department of corrections, etc., are required by this law to submit arrests and court dispositions to WASIS in order for the criminal records file to be complete and accurate. The law also requires that all inquiries for an individual's criminal history file be made to the Section.
In the past, the Clallam County Sheriff's Office, for our convenience, duplicated the efforts of WASIS by entering complete criminal history information (arrests and court dispositions) on individuals arrested by this Department. This information was shared with other agencies or individuals who were authorized by law to receive it. We have discontinued this duplication of effort and, in compliance with the requirements of RCW 10.97.040, we refer all requests for adult criminal history information to Washington State Patrol's Central Repository.You may contact the Washington State Patrol ID and Criminal History Section at P.O.
