The Center for Health Statistics Has Moved

On June 11, 2004 the Center for Health Statistics in Olympia moved to a new location. The new location is at 101 Israel Road SE, Tumwater, Washington.

On June 14th, the Department of Health, Center for Health Statistic opened to the public a same-day service counter for obtaining certified copies of birth, death, marriage or divorce certificates.

· Hours of operation will be 8:00am - 4:30pm, Monday - Friday, except for state holidays.
· For $17.00, citizens will be able to receive a certified copy for most records while they wait.
· Payment should be made by cash, money order, or check payable to "Department of Health".
· The Center's vital records include certificates of:

*Birth and death from 1907
*Marriage and divorce certificates from 1968 to the present
*Birth certificate records from 1937 to the present are now computerized and available within minutes of the request
*Death certificates from 1989 to 2002 are available directly as a digitally imaged document.

· Marriage, divorce and fetal death records require a manual search; and while service will not be as fast, we expect to turn around request for these documents within about 15-30 minutes.
· You can meet with birth, adoption, paternity and amendment specialists for questions and concerns regarding these documents.
