The Clallam County Parks, Fair and Facilities Division has evolved slowly over the years. The birth of the parks department occurred in 1941, six years after Camp David Jr. had been deeded to the County. Starting with that nine acre outdoor recreation camp, the current Parks, Fair and Facilities Division has grown to include eighteen parks, the County Fairgrounds, and four building complexes, including the historic Clallam County Courthouse and other leased facilities. A total of over 720 acres of recreational and County administrative property managed and maintained by the Division staff. Through the tireless efforts of the County Commissioners, County employees, and volunteers, Clallam County continues to take pride in providing outstanding recreational opportunities for the pleasure of generations to come. |
